The Women’s Therapeutic Docket was created to address the unique and specific needs of women who enter the criminal justice system. Participants must be accepted into the docket based on eligibility and assessment by the Treatment Team. Referrals for assessment into the docket can occur at just about any time during the court process, including during a pre-sentence investigation, intervention-in-lieu-of-conviction evaluation, or probation violation hearing.
Once in the docket, participants will engage in treatment programming to address their individual needs and risk for relapse and recidivism. Programming consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychiatry and mental health counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, and vocational and educational classes. Participants also connect with Peer Support and others in the recovery community as they’re building their foundations for success. Participants must successfully complete all five (5) phases of the Women’s Therapeutic Docket to graduate.
Though there are several agencies who participate in the Women’s Therapeutic Docket Treatment Team, there are many agencies in the community who serve the participants in the docket. Please view the resources tab on the main page to view a detailed list of community agencies. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage in community service work, and prosocial activities held at the Trumbull County Day Reporting Center. They are provided with an abundance of resources to connect and receive needed support, both in the community and at the Day Reporting Center, to make meaningful progress toward their goals while receiving accountability and guidance to make healthier, sustainable decisions that are conducive to their lives and the community. If you are interested in learning more about the Women’s Therapeutic Docket, or referring a justice involved woman for entrance into the docket, please contact a member of the treatment team or her attorney.
